Dragons track session

The Dragons track session is run by one of our coaches and is open to Dragons members. If you aren’t a member and want to try us out you are welcome to come along for up to a month before becoming a member.

Sessions are aimed at all abilities and seek to improve both your speed and endurance.

To join a session you must book a place in advance (slots usually become available two weeks in advance). You will receive a payment request after the session for payment online by credit/debit card.

Time: 18:15 -19:00
Cost: £4.00 per person (which is the charge we pay to use the track) plus transaction fee (31p)

What are the sessions like?

At each session, we have a warm up jog of 2-4 laps followed by dynamic stretches/running drills.

The core session usually comprises a number of reps with each followed by some recovery (for example, 6 x 800m with 90s recovery).  The aim is usually to run each of the legs at a prescribed pace (for example, your 5K race pace) and for this to be consistent across all reps unless advised differently and not to run so hard that the session can’t be completed.

At the end, there is a cool down jog of 1-2 laps followed by stretches.
