Dragons run leaders and run assistants ensure that our runs operate safely and that those attending our runs get the most out of them.
Dragons run leaders are able to act as a run director (information about the responsibilities of a run director are detailed here). To be a run leader you need to complete the England Athletics Leadership in Running Fitness course (the course fee will be paid for by Dragons if you have a place approved by the Dragons committee) and have a DBS certificate.
Run assistants help the run director and run leaders during a run. This may include, for example, acting as a front or back marker, keeping an eye on new runners to make sure they are okay and feel welcomed, making sure the group you are with follow the route etc. You don’t need a qualification to be a run assistant.
